Amr Ali dedicated his life to the protection of the environment yet he was not only an environmentalist. He was also a visionary, a defender, an innovator and a progressive thinker. Amr was a fearless warrior for what he believed in and will forever be remembered as such.
Amr Ali - The Red Sea Defender (FULLY Funded Internship) is provided by RED SEA PROJECT™ to Marine Sciences Master and Phd students who seeks practical training and experience in marine conservation. Training as a professional scuba diver is a primary goal of the internship, and is not required as a prerequisite. The internship is also intended to provide practical scientific diving and in-water research experience.
A six-month intensive program during 2024 will be organized into the following sections:
Part 1: Scuba Diving and Basic Research Methods Training
Part 2: Scientific Diving Training
(June - November 2024)
Participants will be receiving the following diving qualifications:

PADI Open Water Diver
-
PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
-
EFR Primary and Secondary Care CPR and Automated External Defibrillator
-
PADI Rescue Diver
-
PADI Divemaster
The training will include the following topics diving physiology, physics, research methodology, history, regulations, dive planning (table and computer), enriched air diving, decompression profiling, accident management emergency procedures, diving under special conditions, and procedures for scientific dives. In addition, interns will learn basic free-diving methods, data collection by snorkeling, mega-fauna monitoring and identification.

Currently enrolled in Egyptian National/Governmental University

Required English tests: IELTS 7 /9 MIN. Score
A minimum of English language proficiency (IELTS overall minimum score of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in each component) -
