About the Event

A healthy ocean is necessary for human and animal survival, but with  ocean plastic choking marine life and pollution wreaking havoc in the  seas, protecting the ocean has never been more important.

For  2020 World Oceans Day is uniting conservation action to grow the global  movement calling on world leaders to protect 30% of our blue planet by  2030. This critical need is called 30x30. By safeguarding at least 30%  of our ocean through a network of highly protected areas we can help  ensure a healthy home for all!

In the Red Sea Project we aim to protect the Red Sea's natural resources from destruction and to maintain respect for the ecological, geomorphologic,  sacred or aesthetic attributes which warranted designation. In this webinar we will introduce you to the impact of Plastic on the Coral Reef Ecosystem and how we can  take part to reduce this negative impact.

Speaker: Ahmed Fouad

PADI Master Instructor and Commission Member of the World Commission on Protected Areas of the IUCN - in Management Effectiveness Network, Marine Network, North Africa, West Asia and Middle East Region, Tourism and Protected Areas Network and IUCN WCPA-SSC Biodiversity and Protected Areas Network.
