Dive Against Debris® | Red Sea
CITIZEN SCIENCE
Marine debris is not only unsightly, it’s dangerous for sea life, hazardous to human health, and costly for our economies. Marine animals become entangled in debris, and even mistake it for food - often with fatal results. The environmental damage caused by plastic debris alone is estimated at US$13 billion a year.
Dive Against Debris® is a 'fins on' action for the ocean, collecting critical survey data from any or every dive that can be used by marine researchers and policymakers for conservation efforts.
RED SEA PROJECT™ is pledge to protect the dive sites we love with PADI AWARE Foundation by taking action to Dive Against Debris® and #AdoptADiveSite to keep our Red Sea clean and healthy.
